What personal items can you bring to West Point?
All you really need to bring are official ID, running shoes, and razor(s). Much of what West Point issues you on R-Day will also go in to an issued duffel bag. You will be carrying this duffel bag for the rest of R-day.

Do West Point cadets come home for summer?
Plebes still get a week, just not the two full weekends. I think now with the compressed academic schedule the goal is to give every cadet 4 weeks leave every summer. The general idea is to break up summer into 3 – 4 week blocks of which one is leave. Long weekends are basically gone from the schedule.
Is there a kissing rock at West Point?
Tradition states that a cadet must kiss his date as they pass underneath the overhanging rock or else it will fall (presumably crushing both of them). West Point also has a Kissing Tree, but one must leave the Post to find it.
