No, it is unlikely to work correctly because of the voltage rating. You could try it – it wouldn’t do any damage. At worst the lights would be dim or not lit. You could find a boost converter to change 12V to 24V but just buying a 24V 2.5A replacement adapter would be cheaper.
Can I use 2A charger for 1.5 a device?
No. The charging circuitry in the device will only draw as much current as it wants. The power supply being rated at 2A just means it is capable of supplying that current. The actual current that flows will be determined by the charging circuitry in the device.
